Georgia. Co Author of Tropilaelaps Book – Detection\, Prevention and Control \nDr. Janashita will share with our beekeepers his experience when tropi first invaded the Republic of Georgia. Actions to detect and control tropi and results of his recent research on this topic. He will also speak about timing matters: Seasonal variations in the efficacy of formic acid treatments against the honey bee parasites Tropilaelaps mercedesae and Varroa destructor in the Caucasus. This is the first time a speaker from this part of the world will speak at a Canadian bee meeting to share his experience and hopefully we learn from him how to respond. \n\nDr. Stephen Martin – Emeritus Professor  -University of Salford\, Manchester\, UK   Topic – Science of varroa resistance\nWestern College of Veterinary Medicine – Saskatoon\, SK.  Dr. Sarah Wood and Dr. Elemir Simko will provide updates on the management of infectious diseases in honey bees and varroa mites.  Pesticide risk assessment for pollinators\, and developing honey bees as an experimental model for human and animal diseases.\nPresentations by SBDC Technical Adaptation Team Lead by Dr. Medhat Nasr and Emilio Tellarini\, Research Associate will update the 2026 industry progress on the performance of Paradise/Polline mite resistant stock under Saskatchewan conditions\, effects of various combinations varroacides on mites and colony health.\nProvincial Apiculturist\, Province of Saskatchewan – Geoff Wilson
