Virtual B-Ginners Beekeeping Workshop March 22 – 31, 2022

The Saskatchewan Beekeepers Development Commission and the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture are pleased to offer the Beginners Beekeeping Certificate Course encompassing four virtual sessions that will provide you with the basic knowledge to successfully set up and manage a honey bee colony.
Your instructors will be:
- Geoff Wilson – Provincial Specialist in Apiculture – Province of Saskatchewan
- Graham Parsons – Provincial Specialist Biosecurity/Pollination – Province of Saskatchewan
- Simon Lalonde – Commercial Beekeeper – Lalonde Honey Farms
- Dr. Medhat Nasr – SBDC – Tech Adaptation Program
Workshops include:
- Basic Bee Biology
- Beekeeping Equipment and how to start
- Seasonal Beekeeping Activities and responsibilities
- Diseases and pests: Diagnoses and Management
- Extracting, processing and marketing honey
The course sessions will be held every Tuesday and Thursday (6:30 to 9:00 p.m.) CMT Every week starting March 22, 2022 and ending March 31, 2022. One additional hands on session on field practices will be held.
